Royal One: A Harmonious Fusion of Art and Space

The concept of inclusivity and the harmony of the circle takes center stage in Kris Lin's Royal One, a private clubhouse designed to embody the Chinese philosophical concept of "unity of heaven and humanity." Circles, a revered totem in Chinese culture, are leveraged to explore the connection between space and emotional needs. This design philosophy is further enriched by integrating natural elements, such as water droplet art installations, to infuse the space with vitality and reflect the flow of life.

What sets Royal One apart is its purposeful design, catering to an owner passionate about wine collecting and social gatherings. The club's layout spans four floors, each meticulously crafted to balance personal indulgence with social interaction. From the wine cellar to the restaurant, and the underground barbecue room to the billiards and audio-visual entertainment rooms, every space is designed to enhance interpersonal communication and cater to both private and social needs.

The realization of this design is marked by the innovative use of overlapping circles in the dining area, created with aluminum panels of various sizes to enhance the spatial experience. The choice of durable materials, such as natural stone and custom woodworking, ensures the longevity and aesthetic appeal of the club, aligning with the principles of sustainable design.

At the heart of Royal One is a striking water droplet art installation, approximately 2500 millimeters in height, suspended above the circular hall. Crafted from highly reflective materials with built-in LED lighting, it creates an ever-changing spectacle of light and reflection, symbolizing the dynamic essence of life.

The design's interaction with its users is intuitive and fluid. Upon entering the club, one is greeted by a circular hall that seamlessly connects various spaces, inviting exploration and movement. The central water droplet-inspired artwork changes with the light, adding a dynamic beauty and energy to the environment. This space is perfectly suited for enjoying wines, barbecues, or engaging in conversations, offering a blend of privacy and social interaction for a diverse range of activities.

Behind the scenes, extensive research was conducted to establish a high-end club that strikes a balance between privacy and social interaction. The design challenges were met by adopting flexible spatial planning and multifunctional features to cater to the owner's hobbies and preferences, crafting a luxury social space that resonates with contemporary lifestyles.
